Back2MAC - Lady Danger & Girl About Town

Some of you may be aware of MAC's 'Back2MAC' program, if not I have detailed it a bit further in a previous post back in January - 'Ruby Woo'.

Anyway today, I went into MAC to return 12 empties in exchange for 2 lipsticks - Lady Danger & Girl About Town.

Lady Danger

Lady Danger as described on the MAC website is a 'vivid bright coral-red'. Being a Matte lipstick, from my experience, it can be a little drying on the lips so I normally use a lip gloss or balm over or under the lipstick. I also find that out of all the different finishes, Matte for me, lasts the longest on the lips.

Girl About Town

Girl About Town as described by MAC is a 'Fabulous Fuschia'. It's a gorgeous hot pink colour which in my opinion would suit most skin tones. This lipstick has an Amplified finish & is very pigmented. It is very similar to the 'Lickable' shade (which I also own!). Perfect for when you are wanting to add a little burst of colour!

April Project 10 Pan Empties - Part 1

So far this month I have managed to finish 6 out of my 10 chosen products, which is a pretty good effort! Here they are:

MorrocanOil Treatment: I really like this oil treatment & out of the 3 I currently use, this is by far the best! Although a bit pricey, my 100ml bottle lasted me ages. The oil is quite thick, so only a little of the product is needed. It has a lovely smell, which lingers throughout the day. Will definitely repurchase after I finish my remaining two (different brands) oil treatments!

Estée Lauder Pleasures Exotic Perfume: Pleasures Exotic is a light fruity/floral perfume. It is not overpowering and lasts a while on my skin. Although this is a nice perfume, I will not repurchase as I have other perfumes to finish.

The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion: Unfortunately I didn't really like this foot lotion very much. It had a nice fresh peppermint scent & absorbed into the skin easily. The formulation is not very thick like other foot creams & found it left an oily residue on my feet which i disliked. Will not be repurchasing this again.

Dior Duo Express Instant Eye Makeup Remover: I recieved this sample as part of a Dior GWP. Unfortunately I only got to try it once a while ago, but has since gone off - so needed to be disposed.

The Body Shop Born Lippy - Raspberry: I used to be a huge fan of this product, but these days it just doesn't do it for me. It smells great & is quite moisturising, but I found it didn't last long on my lips. The castor oil in it also irritated my lips. Will not repurchase.

Clinique All About Eyes: I recieved this as part of a Clinique GWP & to be honest, the product didn't do anything for me. On the upside, the small container lasted ages - giving me ample trial time. Will not repurchase.

30 Day Squat Challenge!

Have you heard about the 30 Day Squat Challenge?

Basically you increase the amount of squats you do each day, with a rest every 4th day. I started my challenge last Tuesday & now I'm on day 7. My legs were sooo sore when I first started, but seems to be getting better as I go along - hopefully it will be all worth it by day 30!

Will update on my progress at the end of the challenge!

Move over MAC...Hello Bourjois!!

I really like MAC products, but I have never been 100% satisfied with the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation that I had been using for the last 6 years. Prior to using MAC, my 'go to' foundation was Revlon Colorstay which I admit I came back to just before trying out Bourjois Flower Perfection Foundation.

In the 6 years that I used MAC SFF, I occasionally tried other foundations. I tried everything from Maybelline, Loreal to Laura Mercier & Dior hoping to find my HG foundation. Without any success, I always came crawling back to my trusty MAC SFF.

I really liked the coverage, finish & lasting power of MAC SFF. The only thing (& probably the most important) that I disliked was the colour, it was always a little orangey. I tried mixing it with other foundations, tried different shades, I even tried different formulations - MAC Pro Longwear, MAC Studio Sculpt - nothing matched perfectly. In the end, I thought to myself there is no point forking out the cash for something I wasn't entirely satisfied with - so the hunt began.

Earlier this year I went to Priceline to pick up a few items I needed & thought I might check out the foundations whilst I was there. Bourjois Flower Perfection caught my eye & hearing the many good raves I thought I'd give it a go!

The pump on the bottle means less wastage which is great, although the sponge under the lid is pretty useless! The colour that I got is pretty much the closest match to my skin so far & I'm loving the silky matte finish. The product is medium to full coverage & seems to last the day without feeling too heavy on the skin. I think I may have found my new HG foundation!

March Project 10 Pan Empties - Part 2

Wow, another month gone by! Where is this year going?

I've finished all my Project 10 Pan Products finally for March, except for The Body Shop Born Lippy - its seems to be a never ending pot!

Here's the remaining products I finished in March, minus the Born Lippy!

Dior Addict 'Rose Shocking' Lipstick:  Rose Shocking is a maroon/pink lipstick with a glitter shimmer. It is applied like a lipstick, but has a gloss finish. The colour is beautiful - sheer, but buildable. Unfortunately, I will not be repurchasing as I didn't find the formula to be long lasting & for the price I would expect it had a longer staying power.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Perfume: one of my favourite perfumes, I get so many compliments when wearing it! I only bought the 30ml initially & had upgraded to the 100ml bottle. The perfume can be worn day or night & has a beautiful floral scent. Will definitely repurchase!

Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturiser: I am a huge fan of Clinique products, but unfortunately I can't say I like this product. The moisturiser is quite hydrating & absorbs into the skin quickly, but it broke my skin out. The moisturiser came in a tub, which I found to be a little unhygienic. Will not be repurchasing.

Loreal  'Made For Me Naturals' Eyeshadow Pallette: the palette I used was for dark brunettes & consisted of 2 different brown shades & neutral shade. The palette was perfect for smoky eye makeup & the dark shadow doubled as a brow powder. Staying power was great & lasted the day. Unfortunately, they no longer make this product, but would repurchase if they did!
