Snippets of my garden

Late last year, I took up the hobby of gardening. I attempted to start my garden earlier in the year but failed miserably, killing my only two plants - chilli & mint (turns out they needed constant watering - I was a bit lazy lol).

I tried again & now have a lush beautiful garden producing delicious fruit, vegies, herbs & flowers.

Here is a little snippet:

Munchkins Day Out

This post is a bit late, but better late then never! Last Saturday the bestie, her mum & I took our little munchkins out to coffee to try a new pet cafe that recently opened.

The cafe was basically a small store that sold pet treats and accessories for dogs/cats and coffee for customers. The shop front had a couple of chairs & tables set up to accommodate those who had purchased coffee. There were so many treats on offer for dogs, it was difficult to choose just a few!

The only downside to the cafe was the quality of  the coffee, no food for customers (it's supposed to be a cafe!) & the fact that the seating area had no enclosure & also fronts onto an extremely busy road just a few metres away. With regards to the coffees, we ordered a long black, cappuccino & flat white - which all seemed to have been made with instant coffee & weren't that great.

Anyway, What I Wore:

Dress: Mooloola, Neck Piece: Colette

As it is my munchkin's birthday this week, I purchased him some special treats:

Carob & yoghurt coated goodness

And a little camouflage print cap - so cute!

Hope you are all having a great start to the week!

February Project 10 Pan Empties - Part 1

Well it has been a great start to February with regard to this month's Project 10 Pan. So far I have finished 5 of the 10 products I chose for this month. So here there are:

Emporio Armani Diamonds Body Lotion: The lotion had a pleasant smell which was not too overpowering. It was easily absorbed, but did leave a slightly greasy residue on the skin. Would I repurchase? Probably not. There are better body moisturisers on the market for much cheaper.

Loreal Ever Pure Moisture Leave-In Conditioner: The smell was lovely, but that was all I liked about this product. It has a slippery, sticky gel texture and only a small amount is required. It left my hair feeling dry and crunchy. Will not be repurchasing.

Olay Total Effects 7-In-One Anti Aging Cream: A light textured cream that is easily absorbed into the skin. It leaves your skin feeling fresh & clean. It is lightly scented and moisturises your skin. May repurchase in the future, but I would like to try other brands first.

Maxfactor Translucent Powder: The translucent powder worked very well on my skin and left a nice finish. My only gripe is with the packaging. You dip your brush directly into the container and tap your brush on the side to remove the excess. Sometimes this does not get all the excess off and this creates wastage. It does come with a puff which made the powder look caked on when applied. The container is not travel friendly either - the lid comes off easily and created spillage in my bag!

Diorshow Extase Mascara: I found this mascara overpriced for what it did. It did not add much volume to my lashes, unless I used numerous coats and as I have watery eyes, I found this mascara did run and smudge. Will not repurchase as I have found my HG mascara for almost half the cost of this one.

Swisse Color Run!

Yesterday M & I participated in the Swisse Color Run and it was a very colourful day indeed! The weather was just perfect and a cool change from earlier in the week. What better way to be spending a Sunday morning than having fun & doing it for charity!

Valentines Day Themed Nails

With Valentines Day just around the corner, what perfect time to share my Valentines inspired nails.

For these nails I used OPI's "Red Lights Ahead...Where?" from their Holland Collection as a base and coated the top with OPI's "Gettin' Miss Piggy With It" from the Muppets Collection.

Do you theme your nails for special occasions? Would love to see your ideas!

January Project 10 Pan Empties - Part 2

Finally finished the remaining 5 products from January's Project 10 Pan - Woo hoo!!

So here they are:

Garnier Intensive 7 Days Nutritive Mango Oil Lotion: My HG body lotion at the moment. It is very nourishing and leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. It absorbs into the skin fairly quickly and has a delicious mango scent. Will definitely repurchase. In fact, I have a Garnier Intensive 7 Days Peach Soothing Gel that I am looking forward to try in my bathroom cabinet. Hoping it is as good, if not better than this!

Victoria's Secret Love Addict Body Lotion: The smell is divine - like fresh strawberries, however the scent disappears after half an hour. It is moisturising, but takes a while to absorb into the skin. Unfortunately, I will not repurchase.

MAC Viva Glam Cyndi Lipstick: This creamy pink/red, coral lipstick is very flattering and gives your lips a nice shine. The only downside I found with this product is it doesn't last as long as some of my other lippies. However as it was part of the Viva Glam limited edition lippies, it is no longer available.

Dior Rouge Blossom Lipstick: This lipstick I found was the perfect colour for my skin tone & instantly brightened up my face. Unfortunately the formulation wasn't long lasting, so I will not repurchase because of this.

Chanel Monte Carlo Lipstick: Once again this was a very beautiful colour, but unfortunately, no staying power. I have a few other Chanel lippies with better staying power than this one. Will not repurchase.

Lush Review: Sunny Side

What Lush Says: "Sparkly golden bar with citrus scents to bring you sunshine. If you’ve had a bad night full of disappointing dreams and wake up feeling a bit glum, pop one of these in the bath. Even as you crumble it under the running water, you’ll start to feel better. Maybe it’s because citrus fruits only grow in warm, sunny places that their scents make us feel like smiling again. Sunnyside’s orange, tangerine and lemon help to get us through the day, however badly it started. It’ll turn your life sunnyside up."

What I Found: Sunny Side is a glittery bubble bar that has a pleasant citrus scent. The bubble bar turned the water yellow and bubbly with glitter specks throughout. The bar is a bit messy though and will leave glitter specks on your clothes, skin and some residue in the bath, but nothing a quick rinse won't fix! Definitely one to add to my list of favourites!

January Project 10 Pan Empties - Part 1

I started my first Project 10 Pan at the beginning of January and managed to empty 5 out of my 10 chosen products. Not bad for a first attempt! So here's my first 5 finished products:

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil: I really like this product. I have been using rosehip oil on and off for the last 6 months and have only just started incorporating it into my daily skincare regime. I have noticed a more even skin tone and it leaves my skin feeling supple. Will definitely continue to repurchase this product.

Napoleon Perdis China Doll Concealer: Unfortunately not one of my favourite concealers. It does the job and is long wearing, but I think there are better concealers on the market. Will not repurchase.

Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector: This product was quite pricey and I felt it did nothing for my skin. I found Rosehip oil works better than this product and costs only a fraction of the price. I do like Clinique products, however this product just isn't for me.

Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 (Trial Size): This product is quite potent due to the alcohol content and I would not recommend using it if you have sensitive skin. I found a little goes a long way with this product so used sparingly, will last you a while. The lotion leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. May purchase in the future once I have finished my current toner, but for the price I believe you can find products for cheaper that will do the same job.

Loreal Volume Million Lashes: I am a fan of Loreal mascaras and this particular one is not bad considering the price. The brush did give my lashes more volume but unfortunately this one was not waterproof and as I get watery eyes, it made the mascara run. I will repurchase a waterproof version next time.

Part 2 of my Project 10 Pan empties coming soon!
